The images in this slide show are from
the installation of
Ecce Homology at the UCLA
Fowler Museum from November 6, 2003 through
January 4, 2004.
The piece was part of the exhibit, From
the Verandah: Art, Buddhism, Presence.
This exhibit in turn was set within the
broader context of the Art
of Rice exhibition at the Fowler which
ran concurrently.

The
Verandah gallery was a very active exhibition
space. In addition to the works by Wolfgang
Laib, Hirokazu Kosaka and Ecce Homology,
the structure, designed by Michael Rotondi,
was the site of dance performances, tea
ceremonies, and a series of public presentations.

Gallery
visitors were free to discover each work or
simply meditate in the space. In this tranquil
yet mysterious space, Ecce
Homology was projected along one length
of the gallery. After experiencing the gallery
and the installation, visitors emerged into
an area with reading materials and more information
about the installation.
